2. The deal
Suggested price
These are starting points for negotiation, not market data for your channel. Engagement, audience fit, past results for other sponsors and production effort can move the price a lot in either direction.
How YouTube sponsorships are usually priced
Most brands think in cost per 1,000 views (CPM): what they pay divided by the views the sponsored video is expected to get. Industry guides in 2026 put typical sponsorship CPMs at roughly $15–$30, with wide variation by niche, audience location and format. That is why this calculator starts from your average views, not your subscriber count – a channel with 200,000 subscribers but 8,000 views per video is priced on the 8,000.
The formula
price = average views ÷ 1,000 × CPM × niche × audience location × format × extras
Example: 25,000 average views, $15–$30 CPM, lifestyle niche, 60% of viewers in high-income countries (factor 0.76), integration: 25 × $15 × 0.76 = about $285 to 25 × $30 × 0.76 = about $570.
What the factors mean
- Niche: brands pay more to reach viewers who buy expensive products – finance, software and B2B channels usually earn the highest rates, entertainment and gaming the lowest per view. The factors in the tool (0.8–1.4) are simple assumptions you can test against real offers.
- Audience location: viewers in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and Western Europe are worth more to most advertisers. Check YouTube Studio → Analytics → Audience → Top geographies.
- Format: a dedicated video usually costs around twice an integration; a short mention or a Short costs less.
- Extras: letting the brand run your clip as an ad (usage rights) or promising not to work with competitors (exclusivity) should cost extra.
Before you send a quote
- Prepare a one-page media kit: average views, audience age, gender and countries, and examples of past sponsorships.
- Agree in writing on deliverables, script approval, number of revisions, posting date, payment terms and whether the link stays in the description.
- Disclose paid promotions. In YouTube Studio, tick “Includes paid promotion”, and say it clearly in the video – advertising rules such as the US FTC guidelines and the UK ASA rules require it.
